“WHAT SPIRIT CAN DO"

When I began working on this book, I already knew what an amazing accomplishment building the Chisago Lakes Arena was.  I also already knew many of the hard-working people who coached the kids, raised the money, and physically built the facility.  What I did not know was that this spirit of self-reliance and pride has a long-standing tradition in our hockey community.

It’s impossible to list every person who contributed to a project of this magnitude.  But it is appropriate to collectively thank everyone who contributed either with labor, money, or both, and recognize what an effort was made to present this beautiful facility to the Chisago Lakes area without using a cent of tax money.

I hope every reader is inspired in some way to move from “it can’t be done” to “let’s do it” for the greater good of the community.
